Segment 417 features a special poetry reading of Tamara Lynn Scott, featured reader in February for Poetry Santa Cruz, California.
Three of the four selections read were filmed for this broadcast.
This photo is of the monument to Poetry located out on the Point in Palo Alto, inscribed with "Phoenix Arise", winner of the New Millennium Poetry Contest, one of the poems read in this segment.
This photo was taken during delivery of "Poem to the People", the inaugural address, on the capital steps of Washington D.C. where she was invited as winner of Salon.com's Epic Poetry award.
Poem to the People was also given on the steps of Sacramento Capital on Inauguration Day
Previous Poetry has won national awards and press.
Local publications also have awarded the poetry.

To open the Broadcast, a 10 minute cut from the Soroptimists International Awards Banquet is included, featuring the original vocals and lyrics of Tamara Lynn Scott's "How Do We Change Our World". The Ruby Award was presented for her work in helping women. As the chosen awardee for the Santa Cruz Bay Area, she will proceed to the State level for consideration of additional awards.
